I cannot connect to my server
- Read the error message in the app first — it sorts the causes: cannot resolve the address / port unreachable / wrong password / server not responding
- Double-check address, port and username (default port is 22)
- If the server allows key authentication only, import your private key (Open SSH format) when editing the server
- For LAN hosts (192.168.x.x) the system asks for Local Network permission — allow it
What does "the server fingerprint has changed" mean?
It is a security warning: the server's key changed (a reinstall, for example) — or someone may be impersonating it. On my phone the session drops when I switch apps
That is an i OS rule (background apps cannot keep a long-lived network connection), not a bug in the app: it reconnects automatically when you come back. A large transfer was interrupted — do I start over?

Where are my passwords stored? Is that safe?
Passwords and private keys live in the system keychain (the encrypted store on i OS / mac OS): no plain-text file, not included in exports, never uploaded. The server list sits in the app sandbox. New Mac or a reinstall — how do I move my server list?
On the old machine use Settings → Data → Export Server List and save the file to Files or i Cloud Drive; on the new one, Import Server List. Exports never contain passwords (the keychain stays put), so each machine needs the passwords once.
